Flagging Down the Tax Rates

Thesaurus says “Charter” means “Licence”

The Malaysian Institute of Taxation (MIT) is undergoing a rebranding exercise. The logo competition page of the website said that it could be renamed the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia…. somehow the acronym for that wouldn’t sound as catchy, you think? I mean CTIM or CTIOM doesn’t really roll off the tongue so good to me.

So, what would be a good name for the new MIT? The British version is CIOT, stands for Chartered Institute of Taxation. So, if we were to add a Malaysian in front of that, we could have a MaCHIT. :P

The logo competition entry period just ended, I’m sorry I found out so late. My version of a logo would have been a hand… waiving a white flag… with emblems of the Inland Revenue Board, Royal Customs Department and the Ministry of Finance crowding around it menacingly, symbolising an impenetrable fence. Maybe barb wires linking that little circle of “trust”.

Sums up our negotiation powers better than all my authority-trashing posts combined.

hmm..u think a logo competition is a way to save money instead of spending tons on experts ? :-)

ono ! now have to get use to a ” new MIT ” known as ..dono wat …

Taxy: Come to think of it, you have a point there. The prize money might just about pay for a tax agent to do your annual filing. For one year.
